Get found by local businesses
If you're an active scout, you can turn on a simple setting that lets local businesses discover you — without any fees, bonuses, or paid arrangements. This is the discovery step, not a paid program.
What it does
Turning on "available for sponsorship" does two things:
- You show up on the map as a scout open to being found — your exact location stays private
(blurred to about 500 meters), the same privacy protection every other pin on the map already gets.
- Your profile shows a badge — "Open to sponsorship in their area" — so a business looking at
your public profile can see you're interested.
That's it. No money changes hands, no bonus percentages, no paid arrangement — just visibility.
Being honest about what this isn't (yet)
Paid sponsorship — a business actually paying to back a scout — isn't live. This setting only controls whether you're discoverable. If and when a paid version ships, it'll be its own separate decision with its own separate switch — turning discovery on today doesn't sign you up for anything financial down the road.
How to turn it on
Go to your sponsorship settings, list the zip codes you cover and the services you scout for, and tap "Mark me available." You can go dark again any time — nothing is permanent.
Where to start
- Sponsorship settings — turn discovery on or off.
- Your profile — see what a business would see when they find you.
